Tosha Burns

Hi, my name is Tosha Burns and I recently completed my Master’s of Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa. I graduated at the end of August 2021 and am starting my career as a physiotherapist treating both musculoskeletal and pelvic floor conditions. I have completed my Level 1 certification for the assessment and treatment of urinary incontinence.

I was raised in Summerstown and attended Char-Lan District High School where I played on many of the high school sports teams and played on both travelling hockey and soccer teams. My first physiotherapy experience was after an injury I suffered playing hockey. I knew from then on that being a physiotherapist was the career I wanted to pursue because of the positive impact I realized it can have on helping people regain their optimal function. I then went on to complete my Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Kinesiology at Queen’s University and was then accepted to the Physiotherapy program at the University of Ottawa.

When I am not studying or working at my placements, I like to bake and actually also have a small business baking cakes and other desserts for customers in the SD&G area. I also love spending time with family & friends, spending time on the water and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
